David Luiz again proved his footballing ability on Saturday after pulling off an audacious 'no-look' chipped pass from 50-yards to tee up Pedro for Chelsea's opening goal against Newcastle.
The 31-year-old was carrying the ball out from defence when he spotted the forward run of Pedro high up the field.
Setting the ball a step ahead of him, Luiz slashed his right foot through it while simultaneously looking in the opposite direction - assured that the pass would reach it's target.
And reach it, it certainly did. Pedro jetted off through the Newcastle back line, latching onto Luiz's pass to fire the ball home and open the scoring after less than 10 minutes played.
Immediately, social media was rife with shocked fans attempting to put what they had just witnessed into words.
One Chelsea fan wrote: 'This ball by David Luiz is pure filth,' along with an accompanying video of the pass-master in action.
'Luiz just played a 60-yard no-look pass on a dime to assist Pedro, WHY is this man a centre back!?' queried another fan.
The 'no-look pass' has become popular in the Premier League due to its Brazilian contingent, with Liverpool's Roberto Firmino now well known for pulling off the cheeky skill.
The form of Luiz this season has been testament to the belief put in him by manager Maurizio Sarri.
Following his arrival from Napoli, Sarri installed Luiz back into the matchday squad after reportedly favouring his comfort and skill while on the ball.
Last season saw Luiz reduced to merely a squad player at Stamford Bridge, following a falling out with former boss Antonio Conte.

Out of all the 30+ players, the one I think deserves a 2 year deal at least is Luiz. He has been very important to the side and has been essential in over half our attacks. Most of our attacks start with him. A very important player to the club and has the leadership in him to lead the backline....
