Colombia failed to qualify for the World Cup by one point in the preliminary round of the South American Zone. After the match, Colombian striker Luis Diaz took to social media to express his disappointment at missing the World Cup and ask fans to believe they will bounce back.

Luis Diaz captioned a photo of him squatting on the grass: "Since I was a kid I dreamed of wearing this shirt and taking it with pride to the World Cup. It's very painful not to achieve that dream, it's very painful for me, for my teammates, for our family and for the country that has always supported us."

"I have this dream and desire to fight for it, and we still have a lot to work on and improve together. For my part, you will have my word that I will do everything in my power to make it happen. We will have our revenge!"
