Diego Costa recalls moment he 'got NAKED' & asked Kante for a hug to wind him up

Diego Costa has revealed he would jokingly try to hug former team-mate N'Golo Kante while naked and claimed the midfielder would not take his underwear off in the shower during their time together in Chelsea.

The duo spent one and a half seasons together at Stamford Bridge following Kante's arrival from Leicester in 2016 before Costa returned to Atletico Madrid in January 2018.

The two players have extremely contrasting personalities with Costa loud and open and Kante seemingly quiet and shy but they appear to have gotten along well.

Costa has provided a new insight to the pair's relationship as he revealed he used to wind-up Kante with his dressing room antics.

The renowned fiery striker used to head into the team showers naked and try to hug the shy Frenchman.

Speaking on Canal Pilhado, Costa said: 'At Chelsea, I would try to hug Kante joking. He's really shy.

'I would go all naked in the bath and be like: "Kante, give me a hug!" and he would be all "No. no, Diego".

'He doesn't even take off his underwear to take a shower.'

Costa was previously seen winding-up Kante back in 2017 during a game of FIFA.

The pair were playing in the team hotel ahead of a Premier League game and the 33-year-old, clearly on the losing side, threw his controller down in a fit.

He then stood up and launched into a rant in Portuguese at Kante who comically just sat there smiling at his crazy team-mate.

Costa sat back down in a huff before animatedly wiggling from side to side while Kante and the rest of the Chelsea players gathered shared a laugh.

To further highlight their differences, Costa, for some reason, was topless, while Kante sat fully clothed.

The notoriously spiky Costa left Chelsea in the January transfer window in 2018 to return to Madrid after former boss Antonio Conte reportedly texted the star to tell him he was surplus to requirements.

Costa scored 52 Premier League goals in 89 appearances for Chelsea from 2014-2017, spearheading their title triumphs in 2015 and 2017.

He is currently a free agent after his contract with Atletico was terminated in 2021 and a brief, yet successful, stint with Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro.
