Real Madrid’s star signing Kylian Mbappe made some pointed statements about his former club Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, making it clear he was not impressed with the leadership at the club. He also revealed that PSG had threatened him with a year in the stands if he did not renew his deal, before manager Luis Enrique and Sporting Director Luis Campos intervened on his behalf.
‘Excited’ and ‘liberated’ were two of the words he used to describe his emotions at having signed for Los Blancos, declaring that PSG had spoke to him ‘with violence’. It did not take long for PSG to respond. In a short statement to AFP, as per Diario AS, PSG condemned his words as ‘lamentable’, and said the top scorer in their history had ‘no class’.
According to reports in France, Mbappe has not been paid by PSG since March, as the French side seek to force a written acknowledgement of an agreement to forego an €80m loyalty bonus that was due to him this season. Certainly if they are trying to persuade Mbappe to give up such a large amount of money, it’s a risky strategy.

Unconditionally backing Mbappé seems illogical to me. If he had decided to stay for those years at PSG, and even demanded departure of both Ney and Messi, alongside acquiring his friend Dembele, this suggests he was enjoying great interests, showing self-interest... aside his astronomical salary. By publicly undermining the club's President, he also disrespected his teammates without whom he wouldn't have scored the goals leading to his success. Rather than arrogance, gratitude toward the president would have been more appreciated. After all, others have exhibited greater ability in soccer than him. I hope Mbappe has watched legends like Ronaldo El Fenomeno, Maradona, Zico, Platini, Roberto Baggio, and more who, aside from the incomparables CR7 and Messi. These soccer masters played beautifully while remaining remarkably humble. So what has yet to be seen from this Monsieur Mbappé that we have not witnessed before? Relax, men!!!
