Arsenal fans haven't had much to cheer about recently but they were given reason to smile on Thursday night after their sharp-looking new home kit was accidentally unveiled.

There have long been rumours that the Gunners will don a retro look for the forthcoming campaign, with the rumours starting last month when Ian Wright apparently leaked the shirt.

The former Arsenal forward posted an image of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seemingly wearing the new home and away kits respectively.

Wright quickly deleted the image but not before it was spotted by eagle-eyed fans - and in a case of deja vu, it seems kit makers Adidas have made a similar mistake.

The designers appeared to accidentally launch a promotional video on their YouTube account, seemingly doing so before the official launch which has been scheduled for July 1, and the post was quickly deleted.

The video featured several first-team stars including Aubameyang, Alex Iwobi and current captain Laurent Koscielny while Hector Bellerin also made an appearance and seemingly committed his short-term future to the Gunners by saying: "North London is home".

Gunners legend Tony Adams made a short appearance while actor Idris Elba, an Arsenal fan, was also among the familiar faces to play a cameo role.

Arsenal fans were quick to spot the video and it soon began to circulate on social media, with the majority of supporters hailing the new design.
