Manchester City and Real Madrid have begun negotiations over a deal for young Spanish striker Brahim Diaz.
Brahim is not getting minutes under Pep Guardiola and has rejected three offers to extend his deal at City beyond the end of the season.
"We want him to renew for four or five more years and will do what's necessary but it's in his hands. If he doesn't want to stay, he has to go," Guardiola's said.
Madrid have contacted the English side over the 19-year-old. They have offered 10 million euros to do a deal in January but City want double.
However, a deal is possible due to the fact he's out of contract next summer, so is free to negotiate with other clubs from January onwards.
City have offered a six-year deal with a 3.5 million euro annual salary but finance is not behind Brahim's desire to leave -- he wants to play and is struggling to see how that happens under Guardiola.
Brahim will have the last word but Santiago Solari could play a key role if he can persuade the player things will be different at Madrid.

Pep has little faith in him.. otherwise he would field him like Foden as a sub.. at least. Diaz shoùld go on to where he can get match time.. Sancho is enough inspiration. Real at this time will seldom give him game time like City otherwise renegotiate with City for 1 more year with assurance of at least sub option in the 1st team..

I think this is the dumbest move ever! he's trading man city for madrid...from frying pan to fire.. Rodrygo goes is yet to arrive and he cost them 45 mil+, vinicius is there , asensio too...all these guys are gonna be battling it out for the starting spot...they are all talented...I wonder what he's motives are...it's just joke...and don't forget solari has boys from the academy he's very familiar with he'd want to give chances in the first team

If it were United people will kill Mou for not giving this young lad a chance.
That's because Mourinho is not winning with other players either. If he would have been in top 2 spot I bet no one would have said that. Same will happen to Guardiola once he starts loosing. That's what people do.

even if half of real madrid's young newly bought players turn out to be future stars then this transfer policy of Madrid would be considered revolutionary....Hala Madrid

It’d be a great signing for the future. With so much potential but he will not be able to get the minutes he desires to have, if Real Madrid purchase I think it’d be best to send him out on loan. Same thing with Vinicius. They’re 2 players with such great potential but they’re not ready for regular playing time and especially playing for Real Madrid.
