Maradona assured to TyC Sports that he will never have enmity with Messi and added that he does not criticize the Barcelona player.“I will never be opposite to him, for me Messi is an idol such as Benja's idol is Kun,” he said referring to a comparison with his grandson and his former son-in-law.
Asked whether he has a bad relationship with Messi, the world champion with Argentina in 1986 flatly denied it.“I'm Argentine, I don't criticize Messi. Look at the good, I'm a friend of 'Leito', I saw him crying in the shower when we lost 4-0,” he said referring to the quarter-finals against Germany in the 2010 World Cup.
