Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has been named in Argentina's squad for their upcoming friendlies against Panama and Curaçao.
The 18-year-old has become a key member of Erik ten Hag's side this season and recently scored the third and final goal in United's 3-1 FA Cup win over West Ham.
And, after going from strength to strength during the 2022-23 campaign, the winger has been awarded his first senior call-up to Lionel Scaloni's side.
Garnacho will join the reigning champions - after their World Cup success last year - for the friendly matches that will take place later this month.
The winger missed out on a place in the squad for Qatar but will be relived to have been named in Scaloni's first side since their triumph in December.
The teenage sensation is also eligible to represent Spain but, after the country's national media blasted Garnacho last month, it's unlikely he'd make that choice.
The winger came under fire from Spanish press after he mimicked Pedri's trademark glasses celebration at full time of United's 2-1 win over Barcelona last month.
Mundo Deportivo, a well-renowned Spanish newspaper, suggested the celebration was 'in very poor taste for an 18-year-old boy who hasn’t been in elite football for very long'.
Garnacho has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Old Trafford, scoring four goals in all competitions for the first-team and helped the club lift the Carabao Cup at Wembley on Sunday.
His pacey wide-play has wreaked havoc amongst Premier League defences as Ten Hag continues to place his trust in the Argentinian winger.
The 18-year-old is currently in contract negotiations with United over a new long-term deal, with image rights reported to be the only hold-up in putting pen-to-paper
United team-mate Fred also tipped the club's academy prodigy to become 'one of the best players in the world' after their 3-1 FA Cup fifth round win on Wednesday evening.
Garnacho scored in the 90th minute to put United ahead for the first time in the tie before Fred rounded off an Old Trafford comeback win.
The winger will hope his debut comes on Thursday, March 23, when Argentina face Panama in a friendly at the Mâs Monumental Stadium.
If not, his first appearance will likely come on March 28 when they face the Curaçao team at the Madre de Ciudades Stadium in Santiago del Estero.
