A number of Chelsea academy products have been handed crucial roles under Frank Lampard this season, with the club curtailed by a transfer ban from the summer.
The likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Reece James have regularly featured since the club's legendary midfielder was hired, with Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori also firmly establishing themselves as first-team key men.
But a host of other promising starlets ultimately failed to make the grade with the Blues and here, Sportsmail takes a closer look at them...
Jamie Bradley-Green
Defender Bradley-Green had narrowly missed out on a scholarship with Chelsea in 2016, and ultimately became the victim of a very talented age group.
The former academy star then joined Southampton, where he was a regular for the club's under-18 side for two years.
However, Bradley-Green departed the south coast outfit in the summer and remains on the search for a new club.
Andrew Demby
Demby spent the fledgling part of his career with Chelsea before later joining Crystal Palace at the age of 10.
The midfielder remained with the Eagles for eight seasons, and was loaned out to Greenwich Borough and Walton & Hersham.
He then joined non-league Staines in the off season.
Taylor Munroe
Taylor Munroe joined Queens Park Rangers in 2012 after struggling to make the grade at Chelsea.
The Blues' academy product had most recently played for Leatherhead.
Harrison Hume
Another starlet who was released by Chelsea, Hume now plies his trade with Rochester United.
Hume had also enjoyed a spell with Maidstone United and Margate.
Finlay Savill
Savill opted to leave the club as a schoolboy and pursue other sporting interests.
He now plays rugby for Epsom College.
Adam Riley
Defender Riley left Stamford Bridge as an under-12 and most recently represented non-league Hendon.
WHERE ARE THE OTHERS?
There are also several notable names who were lucky enough to break through into Chelsea's first-team, or are close to featuring regularly under the club's head coach.
A handful of youngsters have been loaned out to gain experience, and a large group of others are on the cusp of forcing themselves into Lampard's plans. Here, Sportsmail takes a look at them.
Marc Guehi
The defender, born in the Ivory Coast, made his first-team debut for Chelsea in the club's Carabao Cup victory against Grimsby earlier this season. He had also featured among the substitutes in the Champions League a week before.
Guehi captained England to Under 17 World Cup glory, and penned a new three-year deal with the club in the summer.
Tariq Uwakwe
The talented midfielder is ever present for Chelsea in the club's development squad, and has represented the Young Lions up to Under-19 level.
Uwakwe was another to pen fresh terms at Stamford Bridge and also won the Toulon Tournament with England in 2017.
Jamie Cumming
Cumming has stepped up the ranks to become Chelsea's third-choice goalkeeper for this campaign.
The youngster is a two-time winner of the Youth Cup and Under 18 Premier League, and had featured on the bench for the Blues' comprehensive thrashing of Grimsby in September.
Conor Gallagher
Gallagher is a central midfielder and committed his future to Chelsea after signing a new long-term contract in the summer. He was named the club's Academy Player of the Year last season, and will spend this campaign on loan at Charlton.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to the life in the second tier, scoring six goals in 21 appearances and picking up the EFL Player of the Month award in August.
Rhian Brewster
The highly-rated England youngster opted to leave Chelsea and join Liverpool at the age of 14, and regularly featured for the Premier League title hopefuls' Under-18 and Under-23 sides.
He is yet to be handed his top flight debut for the first-team, but has been called up on several occasions by Jurgen Klopp and made two appearances in the Carabao Cup this term.
Brewster also won the Golden Boot at the Under-17 World Cup, and had joined Chelsea as part of the 2008 influx.
Martell Taylor-Crossdale
Taylor-Crossdale, who rejected the chance to sign a new contract with Chelsea in the summer, switched across the capital to join Fulham.
He made his senior debut in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, and had undergone a medical with Hoffenheim before opting to join the Cottagers.
The forward was a prolific scorer at every tier during his spell at Chelsea and netted 21 times as the Blues completed a clean sweep of silverware at youth level.
Dujon Sterling
The full back has been tipped to break into Chelsea's first-team in the future. He was handed his senior debut in 2017, introduced as a second-half substitute against Nottingham Forest.
Sterling made 40 appearances for Coventry in League One last season, and is currently plying his trade on loan in the second tier with Wigan.
He had also been part of England's Euro Under 19 winning side.
Ian Carlo Poveda
Poveda has represented several clubs during his teenage years. After leaving Chelsea's academy, the England Under 19 international later joined Arsenal, Barcelona and Brentford.
But after the Championship's youth system was closed in 2016, Poveda was snapped up by Manchester City.
He was awarded with his first-team debut by Pep Guardiola in the champions' Carabao Cup win against Burton in January.
