A relieved Cristiano Ronaldo ditched his customary celebration after ending his six-game goal drought in Manchester United's morale-boosting victory over Brighton on Tuesday.
Ronaldo, 37, had endured his most barren spell in nearly 12 years, having failed to score in six consecutive games, with United desperate for the Portuguese to find the net.
Prior to Tuesday's visit of the Seagulls, the Red Devils had failed to win in three games and were desperate to find form with the race for Champions League football heating up.
And Ronaldo delivered for his side at Old Trafford. Picking up the ball after a turnover in play, the 37-year-old drifted past a challenge before unleashing a wicket shot on goal that Robert Sanchez had no chance of keeping out.
Given the sheer length in time since his last goal - a strike at home to Burnley in December - Ronaldo could be forgiven for forgetting his trademark celebration, a run. jump and spin along with the 'siuu' battle cry.
Instead, the Portuguese charged towards a jubilant Stretford End before sliding on his knees in front of the United masses.
Brighton star Lewis Dunk was sent off shortly after Ronaldo's opener, before Bruno Fernandes ensured all three points were staying at Old Trafford with a strike in injury time.
'That was an amazing goal,' Rangnick said about Ronaldo's stike. 'Not only an important one but an amazing goal.
'I think overall it was a good performance by Cristiano.
'Energetically, he was on there, he was always trying to help the team-mates so I think in the last weeks definitely the best performance by him and a very, very important goal for us.'
