He's enjoying a break from managing Rangers FC.

And Steven Gerrard certainly made the most of a fortnight away from the Scottish Premier League as he hit the beach with his wife Alex in Marbella on Wednesday.

The former Liverpool star, 41, was seen chatting to his wife while they relaxed in the sunshine together.

Steven, who helped Rangers to the League title last season, was seen reclining to his sunbed while chatting to Alex.

The couple, who married in 2007 are parents to daughter Lily-Ella, 17, Lexie, 15, Lourdes, nine, and son Lio, four.

Typically the international break, when many club players head home to play for their countries in qualification matches, friendlies or games for the Nations League, means club managers can enjoy a break from the busy season.

It appears that Steven is once again leading Rangers to success this season, as they currently sit at the top of the League, with their fiercest rivals Celtic in sixth.

Back in July, it was speculated that Steven could have taken the vacant managerial position at Everton, following the depature of Carlo Ancelotti.

But the England star said he was 'shocked' by reports linking him to the Everton gig, insisting that taking the job was 'never a possibility'.

'I was very shocked and surprised that my name was linked to the job,' he told ESPN.

'I don't know where it came from, whether it was paper talk or if there was any truth in it, I'm not sure.

'[Managing Everton] is never a possibility as far as I'm concerned.'

Everton then appointed Rafa Benitez as their new manager, much to the furore of their supporters given the Spaniard's close ties with arch rivals Liverpool.

But so far it appears to have been the right call for the club, after a strong start to the season sees them in fifth place on the table.
