How footballers are enjoying the end of their summer breaks

It doesn't feel long since Manchester City's Champions League triumph wrapped up the 2022-23 season, yet players are enjoying the final days of their summer breaks ahead of next weeks return to pre-season training.

Following a season which finished later than usual due to last winter's World Cup, players have had slightly less time to enjoy themselves than they might otherwise have been able to do so.

So the stars are taking every chance they have left available to kick back and relax before they return to work.

However, not everybody will return to training next week, as players who represented their countries since the end of the season will be given appropriate time to recuperate.

One player who looks to be enjoying himself is Manchester City's Phil Foden who has been testing his son's heading skills in Mykonos amid his newfound fame on social media.

Ronnie Foden, four, became an online sensation following City's historic Treble win, with the youngster seen lapping up the celebrations alongside his dad after all three of their trophy lifts.

As a result, Ronnie has become the unlikeliest of social-media sensations and has since amassed an astonishing 2.8 million followers on Instagram and is expected to hit the three-million mark after gaining 700,000 in the space of two days.

Foden isn't the only person to be soaking up the sun as Tottenham defender Eric Dier posted pictures from his vacation with his model fiancee Anna Modler where they went on a boat trip.

Liverpool keeper Alisson also took to the waters, but instead of enjoying the sun like Dier, he instead did a spot of fishing as he showed off what he caught in a picture on Instagram.

Some players though are keen to show that they are not just using the off-season to relax and enjoy their time away from football.

Alisson's team mate Mohamed Salah posted a selfie on Instagram where he is seen looking at the camera after a workout in the gym.

Cristiano Ronaldo might now be playing his football in Saudi Arabia for Al-Nassr, but his side are also set for a return to training next week - though he will likely return later after being away with the Portuguese international squad.

The 38-year-old has been enjoying a vacation with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, as well as a host of friends including Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot.

Ronaldo is still close with his international team mate despite his acrimonious exit from Old Trafford last year.

While most players have been enjoying the sun, Paulo Dybala was pictured caught in the rain as he posed in front of a person playing music at Times Square in New York.

A whole host of footballers have been seen on the golf course this summer, the latest of which is United and England defender Harry Maguire.

The defender, who has been linked with a move away from the club this summer, posed for a photo at LIV Golf's Pro-Am day ahead of the Saudi breakaway's next event at the Valderrama course in Spain.

Arsenal's Ben White was pictured on holiday with his wife Milly Adams as the pair posed for a picture, with the England defender also seen enjoying time on a beach.

Bayern Munich return to training on July 7, and team mates Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala are enjoying their summer break together as they were pictured by a pool on holiday in Spain.
