Juventus consider Nice’s Khéphren Thuram as potential Rabiot replacement

Khéphren Thuram (23) is expected to leave OGC Nice this summer. The France international has just one year remaining on his deal with Le Gym, and as one of the most bankable assets in the squad, the Ligue 1 club believe that it is time to cash in.

Despite being heavily linked with a move to Liverpool – most notably – last summer, Thuram made the choice to remain at Nice for a further season in order to consolidate his progress and secure a place in Didier Deschamps’ France squad ahead of 2024. Whilst Les Aiglons had a largely positive season, returning to Europe thanks to a fifth-place finish in Ligue 1, Thuram struggled, constrained by Francesco Farioli’s system.

Thuram believes that he comes out of the season a more “complete” midfielder and one that is therefore ready to take on a new challenge. With just one year remaining on his deal at Nice, the Riviera club are looking to sell. Juventus are considering a move for Thuram, according to L’Équipe.

The Serie A side see the Nice midfielder as a potential replacement for compatriot Adrien Rabiot (29), whose contract expires this summer. Whilst there is interest from Manchester United in Rabiot, it is looking increasingly likely that he will extend his stay with Juventus with talks between the player and the club ongoing. It is unclear whether Rabiot’s renewal would scupper any move for Thuram, whose future seems to lie away from the Allianz Riviera, regardless of the outcome of those talks.
