Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is reportedly set to snub Ivory Coast in favour of continuing his fledgling career with England.
Guehi was born in Ivory Coast capital Abidjan before moving to London when he was one, and is still eligible for the African nation because he has only featured for England in a friendly so far.
But The Sun has reported the highly-rated 21-year-old, who made his debut in the match against Switzerland at Wembley on Saturday, will choose to stick with the Three Lions - even if Ivory Coast make an attempt to lure him from England.
Ivory Coast manager Patrice Beaumelle said earlier this week that he was 'working' on persuading Guehi to represent the Elephants.
Beaumelle claimed he tried to contact Guehi 'several weeks ago' to gauge whether he would be interested in turning out for his team.
According to The Sun, neither the player nor his family have been contacted by Beaumelle or the Ivory Coast FA.
'He did well in his first cap for England but maybe we will try for the orange jersey of Ivory Coast - you never know,' the Ivory Coast boss said.
'I will wait a few weeks and try to contact him to know if he is interested to come and try for the friendlies next time. After we will see.'
Guehi was praised by England manager Gareth Southgate for his performance in the 2-1 victory over Switzerland but did not feature in the 3-0 win against the country of his birth on Tuesday.
He appears to have decided not to follow in the footsteps of Palace team-mate Wilfried Zaha, who won two caps for England before switching to Ivory Coast in 2016.
The Palace defender has missed just one of his side's 29 Premier League games since joining from Chelsea last summer.
