Newcastle forward Allan Saint-Maximin has been charged with two breaches of the Football Association's kit and advertising regulations after wearing a branded headband in two separate Premier League games last month.
The Frenchman, who often dons a headband during games, is said to have worn the Louis Vuitton accessory which had 'an established logo of a clothing manufacturer' on it against Wolves and then again against Leicester in April.
A statement from FA read: 'Allan Saint-Maximin has been charged with two breaches of The FA's Kit and Advertising Regulations, contrary to FA Regulation B2.
'It is alleged that the Newcastle United FC midfielder wore a headband with an established mark or logo of a clothing manufacturer during two Premier League fixtures against Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Leicester City FC on 8 April 2022 and 17 April 2022 respectively.
'He has until 19 May 2022 to provide a response.'
Players are permitted to wear headbands during games, but they must match the same colour as their kit and cannot have external branding on them.
That meant that the black and gold fashion item was not allowed.
Winger Saint-Maximin, 25, came under fire in 2019 after sporting a £180 Gucci head accessory against Manchester United.
He was made to cover up the label's logo with a sticker to avoid breaching the rules.
On that occasion, the former Nice man arrived at St James' Park donning the headband, but when he stepped onto the pitch, a sticker covered up the branding.
Sportsmail has reported that Newcastle are willing to cash in on Saint-Maximin.
Despite being a favourite with supporters, it is understood that his club would be prepared to sell him for around £50million in the summer transfer market.
The funds would then go back into their transfer war chest to improve their squad.
