Piers Morgan takes aim at Man United over Ronaldo AGAIN after 7-0 mauling

Piers Morgan couldn't resist a few more digs at Manchester United over Cristiano Ronaldo's exit following their humiliating 7-0 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday.

United were torn to shreds on their latest visit to Anfield, conceding six goals after the break in an astonishing second-half collapse at the home of their bitter rivals.

It was an unexpectedly disastrous evening for Erik ten Hag's men, who went into the game in a rich vein of form having won the Carabao Cup final last weekend and avoided defeat since January 22.

Yet the Red Devils were brought crashing back down to earth in their seven-goal mauling on Merseyside, and Morgan has suggested the result was 'karma' for the way they treated Ronaldo.

The Portuguese star left Old Trafford by mutual consent in November after his sensational tell-all interview with Morgan, which saw him rip into Ten Hag, the club's facilities, their Glazer owners, his team-mates and more in an explosive outburst.

United made the decision to tear up his contract immediately, with Ronaldo missing out on £16million in compensation as a result of the controversial interview.

Morgan has not tired of defending him over the fallout, however, and in the wake of Sunday's hammering at Liverpool he blasted Ten Hag and Co once more in a series of posts on Twitter.

The TalkTV host first shared a photo of Ten Hag dancing with Antony and Lisandro Martinez after their Carabao Cup final win at Wembley and wrote: 'Don’t think we’ll be seeing any dancing tonight.'

He then shared a recent Sportsmail story on Ten Hag's admission that he isn't losing any sleep over Ronaldo's exit and said: 'Good luck with your sleep tonight, genius.'

And Morgan wasn't finished there, as he went on to tweet an image of Ronaldo playing for United with a magnifying glass emoji, before posting a photo of the pair together and saying: 'Funny thing, karma'.

He also tweeted out the 38-year-old's claim in their interview that United have not moved on since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure, while also taking another shot at Ten Hag over his sleep remark by joking: 'Anyone got some Xanax for Erik?'

Shortly after leaving the club Ronaldo signed a £173million-a-year contract with Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr, where he has so far scored eight goals in seven appearances.

He recently scooped the Saudi League's player of the month prize after registering eight goals and two assists in four outings, which included a stunning first-half hat-trick.

Despite their heavy defeat on Sunday, United remain on course to secure a place in the top four and qualify for next season's Champions League.

They also have FA Cup sixth round and Europa League last 16 ties to come against Fulham and Real Betis later this month.
