West Ham midfielder Declan Rice was given another major scare on Tuesday when team-mate Jack Wilshere hilariously jumped out at him from a tumble dryer.
After being pranked by Mason Mount last summer, Wilshere ensured Rice had a birthday to remember by making his colleague jump in the West Ham laundry room.
A video posted to Wilshere's Instagram shows the former Arsenal midfielder jump into a tumble dryer as Rice, who celebrated turning 21 on Tuesday, approaches the room.
Wilshere sits inside the machine before pulling the door closed and then a few seconds later Rice enters the room behind a member of West Ham's staff.
As he walks in front of the machine Wilshere kicks the door open and screams, prompting Rice to jump into the air and shriek in fear before Wilshere escapes the machine and bursts out laughing.
It comes six months after Chelsea midfielder Mount played another cruel prank on Rice, his close friend and Premier League rival, while they were on holiday together.
The young English pair were unwinding in sunny Dubai and when Rice decided to take a nap, Mount made the most of the opportunity to get one over on his pal.
Mount shouted right in front of Rice's face as he slept, prompting him to wake up and loudly scream in fright.
It remains to be seen just how many more chances Wilshere will have to prank Rice as he continues to be linked with a move away from West Ham.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sent his personal scout to report on Rice at the weekend ahead of a summer move for the England midfielder.
Sportsmail understands that Simon Wells was dispatched to watch Rice during West Ham's defeatby Sheffield United, a game in which the 20-year-old thought he had set up an injury-time equaliser only for VAR to penalise him for a handball in the build-up.
Rice has rediscovered his best form in recent weeks after a difficult first half of the season and is among United's top targets as they look to sign more midfielders.
Rice, who has seven England caps, is contracted to West Ham until 2024 but they will be expecting United’s approach in the coming months.
United's pursuit of Rice comes as they continue negotiations for Sporting Lisbon and Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
