Angelino 'set for Man City return from Leipzig' despite £25m agreement

  /  Geralt

When Angelino helped shred Tottenham Hotspur to shreds in the Champions League back in February, plenty of Manchester City fans were left aghast that the Spaniard had been let go by the club.

Angelino struggled for opportunities and was loaned out to RB Leipzig in January. The German side, according to the Daily Mail, will have the option to purchase him permanently for £25 million in the summer.

But it seems City might get yet another chance to give Angelino a chance.

Reports in Germany are suggesting that Leipzig will no longer be activating that clause.

Kicker are claiming, as relayed by Sports Illustrated, that Leipzig can no longer afford the previously agreed fee as they look to cut costs amid the current global health crisis and resulting financial struggles.

They also suggest that Angelino is ready to have another run at the City first-team.

So it seems Manchester City might, yet again, get another chance to blood Angelino into the first-team.

Considering the way Angelino shredded Tottenham apart from left-back earlier this season, that should be considered a huge bonus for Manchester City.
