Kimmich on Alaba: After Bayern Munich, joining Real Madrid isn't bad at all

Joshua Kimmich certainly thinks David Alaba has made the right career move.

MARCA reported in January that the Austrian international would join Real Madrid once his contract at Bayern Munich expires in June. Now, with only official confirmation needed to confirm the transfer, Kimmich is pleased that his Bayern teammate has moved to another of Europe's biggest clubs.

"He's won it all here," Kimmich said on Alaba's Bayern career.

"I'd say that Real Madrid are, without any doubt, a respectable club.

"There aren't many places you can go after Bayern Munich, but Real Madrid isn't bad at all."

Alaba has already agreed on a four-year contract at Real Madrid, which is worth 11 million euros per season.

The 28-year-old's arrival could signal the departures of one of Real Madrid's two starting centre-backs. Raphael Varane has offers for England, while Sergio Ramos is out of contract in the summer.
