Lewandowski's run ends but Bayern Munich march on against Greuther Furth

Bayern Munich made it eight straight wins with a 3-1 win at Greuther Furth, but Robert Lewandowksi's scoring streak came to an end. The Polish striker has scored in 19 consecutive games but couldn't make it 20.

Of those 19, 15 were Bundesliga games, which is one shy of Gerd Muller's record of 16 which has stood since 1969/70.

It was Thomas Muller who got Bayern on the way after just 10 minutes, finishing coolly with a first-time left-footed shot after the ball broke to him just inside the area.

Before half time, the Bavarians had doubled their lead and this time it was Joshua Kimmich putting on the finishing clinic, with an even better goal, placing his shot perfectly in the bottom corner from well outside the box.

A Sebastian Griesback own goal put the game beyond any doubt in the 68th minute, although the home side did give their fans something to cheer about with a late consolation goal courtesy of the head of Rangers loanee Cedric Itten.

The win means that Bayern put three points between themselves and Wolfsburg, who travel to Hoffenheim on Saturday looking to catch up again.

Bayern continue rampant and the early struggles for Julain Nagelsmann seem a distant memory.
