Manchester United fans were quick to pick up and what they believed to be a transfer hint from Jason Sancho.

The England youngster was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford before their failure to qualify for the Champions League saw the move fall through.

But the teenage winger is still highly-regarded by Manchester United chiefs and remains on their radar as a long-term target.

And he sent United fans into overdrive on Twitter on Monday night as he tweeted to Raheem Sterling asking: “What’s the “Location” next summer bro”.

Fans of the Red Devils were quick to jump to the conclusion he will be joining Manchester City star Sterling in the area by joining United next summer.

Their excitement was only ramped up when he quickly deleted the tweet moments later, replacing it with a similar message stating: “Location video out now ft Me n @ sterling7 litness”, in reference to their cameo in a music video for rapper Dave for his new song titled “Location”.

Fans had already caught onto his first tweet, urging him to ensure his next location is Old Trafford.

One wrote: “Your location currently is headed straight to Old Trafford pitch mate” whilst another added: “Only location for you Sancho” along with a picture of the United badge.

Another said: “Yours is Old Trafford surely, mate” as another asked: “When you signing that contract with MUFC mate?”

The video featured Sterling and Sancho on their recent holiday, with the close friends joined by rap stars Dave and Stormzy, both known to be United fans.

One fan even came up with an extreme theory regarding what the video meant, writing: "Dave just released his music video for “Location”, here’s what we know:

"Dave wears a United shirt with number 7, Jadon Sancho’s number? 7.

"Jadon Sancho then features with Sterling - United fan, player based in Manchester hence the song name “Location”?

"'You know what’s next'”

Sancho and Sterling remain close friends and England team-mates, despite Sancho departing Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

He has flourished in Germany, leading to Dortmund reportedly slapping a £100m price tag on his head as United consider trying to bring him back to the Premier League.
