RB Leipzig are in advanced talks to re-sign Ademola Lookman from Everton.
As revealed by Sportsmail on Tuesday, Leipzig made an improved offer of £22.5m offer for winger Lookman, 21.
Discussions have continued between Everton and the German club and now reached a stage where a deal is close to being agreed with only a few small details left to be resolved.
Long-term admirers Crystal Palace, who may need a replacement for their want-away star man Wilfried Zaha, have also registered their interest and are considering hijacking Leipzig's move.
But it is Leipzig who are in pole position and on the verge of landing their man.
Lookman spent a successful loan spell at Leipzig during the second half of the 2017-18 campaign and the Bundesliga outfit have been keen to sign him permanently since.
