2010: New kings Spain, Treble Inter
Iniesta won Spain their first-ever World Cup
At the start of the decade, Spain was the dominant force in world football. Two European Championships (2008, 2012) were sandwiched in-between their first-ever World Cup win in 2010, edging a narrow final against Holland courtesy of an extra-time winner from Andres Iniesta.
Mourinho's Inter became the sixth club in history to win treble
Diego Milito scored both goals as Inter beat Bayern 2-0 in the 2009-2010 UCL final at the Santiago Bernabeu as Mourinho engineered a historic treble.
2011: Ronaldo retired, Man Utd's 19 > Liverpool's 18
Phenomenon Ronaldo became legend forever
In February 2011, 3-time FIFA world player of the year & World Cup winner Ronaldo announced his retirement from football in an emotional press conference which brought an end to his 18-year career.

After winning 2010-2011 season's EPL trophy, Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United side became the most successful English club in domestic competition. United drew at Blackburn to clinch a 19th league title as they overtook Liverpool's tally of 18.
2012: Aguerooooo, Chelsea 1st UCL win, Messi & Spain in dominance
93'20'' → Aguerooooo = City's 1st league title in 44 years
On May 13, 2012, City beat Queens Park Rangers in the final match of the Premier League season to win their first league title in 44 years. Aguerooooo scored that winner, deep into stoppage time (93'20''), robbing rivals Manchester United of the Premier League trophy in the dying seconds of the season.
Chelsea won their 1st Champions League against all odds
19 May 2012, Chelsea won their first Champions League title, defeating Bayern Munich on penalties after a 1–1 draw in the Final after they beat a Guardiola-managed Barcelona side in the semi-finals.
Messi's incredible record-breaking 91 goals in 69 games
In 2012, Lionel Messi broke the most goals in a calendar year record set by Germany and Bayern’s Gerd Müller, who scored 85 goals way back in 1972. Messi smashed this record by six goals, scoring a staggering 91 times, with 79 for Barca and 12 for Argentina.
Spain won Euro 2012 to complete historic treble
Defending champions Spain claimed a historic third successive major international trophy with a 4-0 rout of Italy in the Euro 2012 final in Kiev. That Bosque's incomparable side have become the team that never lose and this will forever be recalled as Spain's era.

Sir Alex Ferguson's Man Utd retirement
Sir Alex Ferguson retired as Manchester United manager at the end of the season in the 27th year of a tenure that has made him the most successful in British football.
12 May 2013, He took charge of Manchester United for the final time at Old Trafford as his team celebrated the club's 20th title with a 2-1 win over Swansea.
Bayern recover from 2012 heartache to win treble in 2013
Bayern are the first German club to achieve the Treble and are the third European club to complete the Treble in the last five seasons and seventh ever in European Club competition.
Bayern became the second side to recover from a UEFA Champions League final loss to triumph the next year, matching AC Milan's redemptive win in 1994.

Germany humiliated Brazil 7-1 and won World Cup
Germany ended Brazil's World Cup dreams in humiliating and brutal fashion in the semi-final and then won the trophy against Messi's Argentina with Gotze's extra-time winner.

MSN & Barcelona's second Treble
Barcelona won their second treble in the club’s history as fans witnessed the emergence of the ‘MSN’ trident and another sensational overall season. Suarez, Neymar and Messi – 'MSN' scored a combined 137 goals for Barca in 2015.
Nine minutes, five goals, only one Robert Lewandowski
Lewandowski broke a host of records when he plundered five goals in nine minutes as Bayern brushed VfL Wolfsburg aside 5-1 in September 2015.
2016: History, Fairytale & Tragedy
Ronaldo with his 1st major international trophy for Portugal
Captain Cristiano Ronaldo led Portugal to win their first-ever major international trophy in the nation's history with Euro 2016 glory after Eder netted the winner in final against hosts France.
Leicester City pulled off fairytale Premier League title win
It's one of the greatest underdog stories in sport -- Leicester were given betting odds of 5000/1 to win the Premier League back in 2016.
Leicester shocked football by going to the top of the table in November, a full year after finding themselves at the bottom of the league.
Chapecoense plane crash tragedy
But another fairytale story with tragic ending - The incredible rise of Brazilian football team Chapecoense has reached a "tragic ending", after a plane crash in Colombia killed the majority of their team.
The plane carrying players, staff and journalists to Colombia for the Copa Sudamericana final crashed, killing 71 of the 77 people on board.
2017: Miracle time & Neymar's €222m Move; Ronaldo 5-5 Messi
Miracle at the Camp Nou & Barca's greatest ever European comeback
Roberto's 95' winner helped Barça turn around a 4-0 defeat against PSG in their Champions League Last 16 first leg with a 6-1 win at home.
Neymar hailed the best game of his career after Barcelona pulled off the greatest comeback in UCL history by scoring three times in the dying minutes against a stunned Paris Saint-Germain.
Ronaldo won fifth Ballon d’Or to equal Messi’s record
Ronaldo's second successive win drew him level alongside Barcelona rival Messi on five Ballon d'Ors, after beating the Argentinian and Brazilian Neymar.
Neymar joined PSG in world-record transfer deal
The move that seemed like pure fantasy has morphed into reality. Neymar, ex-Barcelona's young world-class gem, joined Paris Saint-Germain after weeks of speculation.
Neymar completed his record-shattering transfer, signing a five-year deal with the French club after it triggered his 222 million euros release clause.
