Arsenal have entered talks with Fenerbahce over a January loan deal for Mesut Ozil, according to reports from Turkey.

And the Gunners are reportedly willing to pay part of Ozil's £350,000-a-week wages as they look to offload the club's top earner.

Ozil has fallen out of favour under Arsenal boss Unai Emery, with the manager preferring the likes of loan signing Dani Ceballos and youngster Joe Willock.

It appears the 30-year-old has been offered a lifeline by his former club Fenerbahce, who want to take him on loan in the new year, according to Turkish outlet Takvim .

The publication says the Turkish club has contacted Arsenal and terms have been discussed over a deal, which could include the Gunners part-paying his mammoth salary.

Ozil, who turns 31 next week, believes there is no way back for him at the Gunners and it appears the club are ready to draw a line in the sand and get rid of the World Cup winner.

Emery has been reluctant to pick Ozil for away games because of a lack of work rate and, despite him having been named as one of five captains in a dressing room vote, the club want to move him on.
