Arsenal transfer round-up: £25m star set to reject Gunners, Ozil eyes departure

Speculation continues to grow that Arsenal could make a number of moves in the January transfer window as they look to turn around their poor season so far.

Despite their dreadful recent form, manager Mikel Arteta is expected to be given time to turn it around by the board.

But he is likely to demand funds to spend next month in order to add at least one or two players to his squad.

And there could be a number of outgoings too as they look to trim some of the deadwood from the team.

Here are all the latest rumours doing the round from the Emirates...

Carragher slams summer signing amid agent row

Jamie Carragher has slammed summer signing Willian for his slow start to life at The Emirates amid a row with the Brazilian’s agent, Kia Joorabchian.

The Liverpool legend told the Telegraph: “Willian was a tremendous player at Chelsea, but handing a lavish contract to a 32-year-old sends a contradictory message when a club is focused on building for the future.

“To me, Willian’s move to Arsenal looks like a final payday for a fine player past his best. It is not the first time Arsenal have made such a signing recently.”

Carragher made a joke claim earlier this week that Joorabchian has been handling Arsenal’s transfer business after they signed a number of his clients.

Ozil eyes January move to MLS

Frozen out midfielder Mesut Ozil is open to joining a club in the MLS next summer when his contact expires, according to ESPN.

The German playmaker enters the final six months of his £350,000-a-week contract in January, and can directly negotiate with overseas clubs in the new year.

D.C. United and LA Galaxy have both been linked with the 32-year-old in the past.

Arsenal set to miss out on signing Szoboszlai

Arsenal have been dealt a major transfer blow as Dominik Szoboszlai is poised to seal a move to RB Leipzig.

The Gunners were reportedly in the running for Szoboszlai's signature as Mikel Arteta searches for a creative attacking midfielder.

But the north London side are set to miss out as the Hungary international is on the verge of joining RB Leipzig, according toSky Sport Germany.
