Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt emerges as shock PSG target

According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt (24) has emerged as a transfer target for Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG have been desperate to recruit a centre-back since Milan Skriniar suffered a potentially season-ending injury at the start of January. However, despite targeting numerous players, including Diego Llorente, Edmond Tapsoba, Jean-Clair Todibo, Kevin Danso and Leny Yoro, a deal has yet to get over the line.

Yoro remains PSG’s No.1 target, however, Lille OSC have been public and vocal in their refusal to sell the France youth international this month, choosing instead to cash in this summer, when a bidding war will almost certainly ensue.

Les Parisiens’ search therefore continues, and according to Hawkins, attention has even shifted to Bayern Munich’s de Ligt. However, despite sounding out a deal for the Dutch centre-back in recent days, they have been informed by their Bavarian counterparts that de Ligt is not for sale.
