The BBC's live coverage of Premier League football will begin with Bournemouth's crucial clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday, June 20, according to The Telegraph.

The BBC have been given four matches as part of the top-flight's revised broadcast deal, which will see every one of the remaining 92 games this season shown live.

And the Cherries' home game with Palace has reportedly been picked as their first match, subject to final ratification.

The game, which will take place at Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium, has been scheduled for a 7.45pm kick-off on the first weekend of action since football was shut down because of the coronavirus crisis.

The Telegraph also claim that Aston Villa v Sheffield United on June 17 is likely to be the first Premier League game played in more than three months.

The clash at Villa Park is set to kick-off at 6pm and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, with Manchester City v Arsenal being shown straight after it at 8pm.

The game between Bournemouth and Palace will be the first time Premier League football has been shown on free-to-air television in the UK.

And with the public having been starved of English top-flight football for more than three months, there is a chance it could be the most-watched Premier League game in history.

The current record is held the Manchester derby in April, 2012, which was watched by 4.04 million viewers on Sky Sports.
