Brendan Rodgers said his wife Charlotte and six-year-old stepdaughter Lola had been through a 'horrendous' experience during the burglary on his Glasgow home and plans for them to move down to Leicester would now be accelerated.
The Leicester manager confirmed his Celtic medals were stolen during the raid but managed to raise a smile and said: 'I'll have to try and get some more.'
Speaking for the first time since the early hours break-in on Wednesday morning, Rodgers described how the men disturbed his family in the night while they were asleep.
'It's not nice for any family to go through, it gave the girls a fright,' he said. 'It is sad for someone to come into their rooms while they were sleeping. Horrendous. Burglars entered the room with my daughter there.'
Rodgers, who was sleeping in his Leicester apartment at the time but still took training the following morning, added: 'You never want it to happen. When I got the call early hours, you want to make sure people are fine. They are both fine and safe.'
Businessman Willie Haughey provided assistance in Glasgow and Rodgers will now move his family down sooner than intended.
'We are looking to buy a home here,' he said. 'They'll be moved down very soon and we'll throw our life into here. They'll be down here that bit quicker.
'The last 10 days there has been a lot said about my move, I don't want it to detract from the amazing time I had in Glasgow. Those memories will live with us.
'We will not let this or the reaction over the last 10 days cloud any of that. We have dealt with that.
'I'm always focused it wouldn't detract from my work.'
