Carlo Ancelotti shocked fans by showing off some neat ball control on the sidelines during Real Madrid's game against Chelsea.

Ancelotti's side took one step towards the semi-finals of the Champions League with a commanding 2-0 victory over the Blues at the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.

Karim Benzema opened the scoring in the first half before Marco Asensio came off the bench to double the hosts' lead after a well-worked corner routine.

Ben Chilwell was sent off for Chelsea as the Blues' struggles continued in Frank Lampard's second game in charge.

And Ancelotti, regularly known for looking calm and slick on the touchline, showed he still has the football ability during the game as he controlled a ball that came his way.

The Italian, hands in pockets, controlled the ball with the inside of his right foot as he showed the focus that rarely leaves his face during games.

He then kicked the ball up again with his left foot, his right hand still in his pocket, before kneeing the ball right his right knee to set up a pass back.

He then volleyed the ball back towards the pitch to the amusement of those in attendance at the Bernabeu.

'Carlo Ancelotti showed more skill than all Chelsea players combined,' joked one fan on Twitter.

'Mr Ancelotti still got those sleek skills,' said another.

'Ancelotti should play Right Back after that beautiful bit of skill,' added a third.

The 63-year-old enjoyed a playing career spanning 15 years, making professional appearances for Parma, Roma and AC Milan.

A midfielder, he scored 35 goals in nearly 350 appearances as a player before going onto have an illustrious managerial career.

He is currently bidding to win his fifth Champions League title as a manager.
