Chelsea and Manchester City continued to set the pace in the Women's Super League after posting respective victories over London City Lionesses and West Ham.
Ahead of the rest of Sunday's action, leaders Chelsea maintained their one-point advantage over City after seven games of their own campaign.
Starting at Stamford Bridge, Sonia Bompastor's team maintained their unbeaten start to their title defence with a 2-0 victory over London City.
Erin Cuthbert threatened to open the scoring inside the opening two minutes of the contest, but Wassa Sangare was on hand to brilliantly clear her goal-bound effort off the line.
However, the Lionesses' defence was breached soon after when Ellie Carpenter turned home at the back post following fine work down the left-hand side by Sandy Baltimore.
Chelsea's dominance continued, but they failed to trouble Elene Lete, though strikes from Nikita Parris and Isobel Goodwin kept Hannah Hampton on her toes at the other end.
After the break, Lete's net came under more fire from the WSL champions, but Aggie Beever-Jones squandered two huge chances, while Erin Cuthbert headed narrowly wide.
London City came close to snatching an unlikely point late on, but Hampton was equal to Goodwin's effort, with the Blues able to hold on for a sixth league win of the season.
However, the result was sealed in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time by substitute Sam Kerr, who lofted the ball over Lete after a mistake from Poppy Pattinson.

But City ensured they remained on their tails, with Aoba Fujino's 26th-minute strike proving enough to get the better of a spirited West Ham, who went down 1-0 at Joie Stadium.
A low-key opening 25 minutes sparked into life when an error from Shelina Zadorsky allowed Vivianne Miedema to roll the ball into Fujino, who found the bottom-right corner.
West Ham came close to restoring parity just before the break, but Viviane Asseyi's shot towards goal clipped the crossbar as City held on going into the break.
The Hammers' persistence of playing out from the back almost hindered them, but Khadija Shaw was unable to take advantage of Amber Tysiak's poor pass.
Gracie Prior came closest to altering the scoreline 20 minutes from time, but was denied by the woodwork after meeting a free-kick at the back post.
Data Debrief: The streak continues for Bompastor's Blues
Chelsea were far from their very best against London City, registering an expected goals (xG) total of 2.62 from their 17 shots, though only three were on target, compared to their opponents' 0.66 from the same number of attempts at goal.
But the Blues remain the team to beat in the WSL as they are now unbeaten in their last 32 league games. Their last longer unbeaten streak was from February 2019 to January 2021, a stretch of 33 matches.
City, meanwhile, extended their winning streak to six matches, their longest such run in the WSL, with the Citizens last winning that many games in a row between September and November last year.
West Ham, meanwhile, are on their worst losing run in the competition (nine games).
