His surname translates as 'gifted' and Desire Doue is certainly living up to the billing.
The 19-year-old's exploits against Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa in the Champions League this season have transformed the Paris Saint-Germain star into one of Europe's hottest properties, so much so that City are exploring a summer move for him.
It is why Arsenal, who looked at the Frenchman last season when he was at Rennes, will be on red alert to the threat he poses ahead of their Champions League semi-final first leg at the Emirates on Tuesday night.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was aware of Doue's potential long before his performances in this competition, as they pondered reinforcements in wide areas last summer.
Chelsea and Manchester United also monitored Doue, who loves taking on opponents with his skill, trickery and pace. But in August, while others dithered, PSG paid £43million for a teenager who had yet to establish himself at Rennes.
It was a risk, but the move has paid off handsomely, his value having increased substantially in the space of just eight months as he takes France and Europe by storm.
Doue has 13 goals and 12 assists in 47 games this season. At 5ft 11in, he is not the tallest, but his long legs enable him to move forward at speed and manipulate the ball in tight spaces. His relaxed style of dribbling deceives opponents.
Then there is Doue's ability to play on both wings and as an attacking midfielder. It equates to a very attractive package.
PSG's turnaround has been remarkable. Since the 2-0 defeat by Arsenal in the league phase on October 1, manager Luis Enrique has deployed the teenager as an interchangeable figure on the team's right wing, with Doue or Bradley Barcola paired with Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
As a quartet, they have spearheaded wins over a plethora of English sides as PSG try to reach a first Champions League final since 2020.
Dembele and Kvaratskhelia have long been proven players at this level, but the teenager has risen from a promising talent to a dependable player through some game-defining moments.
The first match of this sequence was the 4-2 victory over City at Parc des Princes in January during the league phase, in which his aggressive dribbling shone. His second-half strike rebounded off the bar and fell to Barcola, who tapped in to make it 2-2 at a crucial stage.
Doue then starred as a second-half substitute across two legs against Liverpool in the last 16. He forced Alisson into one of his best saves of the night at Parc de Princes, before tormenting the Reds at Anfield, where he scored the decisive penalty in the shootout win.
And, in his most mesmerising display yet, he struck a stunning, curled equaliser against Aston Villa in their quarter-final first leg, after which PSG won 5-4 on aggregate.
The Doue and PSG of today are very different to the ones which faced the Gunners in October.
In that loss, PSG looked disjointed and the attacker was replaced on 64 minutes. He had the occasional foray forward, but struggled to have much influence in the final third.
It followed a pattern as the Ligue 1 champions picked up just four points from a possible 15 in their first five Champions League fixtures, marked by a rift between Enrique and star forward Dembele, who was dropped from the squad in October after turning up late to training.
When asked about the defeat, Enrique said: 'That was seven or eight months ago. There are huge differences between now and then.
'I have reviewed the game and seen how far our game has come and we are better now. We are a more complete team.
'Our next objective is to rewrite history and there is only one way to do that.'
The warning signs for Arsenal are there, with nullifying Doue high on the list.
