Fleetwood Town have knocked back a £200,000 bid from Everton for England Under 19 goalkeeper Billy Crellin.
A number of other Premier League clubs are trailing Crellin, who made his professional debut in the Checkatrade Trophy under Joey Barton last season.
Everton made the first move this week with an offer including a significant amount of additional clauses which would be activated if the 19-year-old were to flourish at Goodison Park.
Fleetwood rejected that and are aware of interest from others, including Wolves. Manchester United and Arsenal have previously made checks on the goalkeeper.
Crellin was alongside the likes of Phil Foden in the England Under 17 squad that lifted the World Cup in India two years ago.
The teenager signed a new contract at Highbury Stadium until 2020 in the weeks after that triumph.
