Ivan Perisic 'wants to leave Tottenham after just ONE season and return to Inter Milan'

Ivan Perisic wants to leave Tottenham after just one season and return to Inter Milan, reports in Italy have claimed.

The 34-year-old Croatia winger signed a two-year contract to join Spurs on a free transfer last summer in a deal believed to be worth £170,000-a-week.

However, Tuttosport reported he could be set to leave North London after an underwhelming season with Spurs sat outside of the top four.

The departure of Antonio Conte in March after a turbulent 16-month reign is also said to have increased the likelihood.

Perisic won Serie A under Conte's guidance at Inter, as well as the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup.

Perisic was a key cog in the Croatia side that finished second and third at consecutive World Cups.

He has played 123 games for his country and enjoyed a fruitful club career that has brought him three league titles and a Champions League.

The versatile midfielder was part of the Inter side that won the Serie A title in 2020-21, having joined season-long loan with Bayern Munich in 2019-20 where he won the Champions League.

Although largely deployed by Conte - with whom he won the Scudetto in Milan - as a left wing-back, Perisic is equally potent as a left-winger, having played there for the majority of his career.

When he signed for Tottenham, Perisic said of Conte: 'It's a privilege to work with a coach like this.

'He's living football, every minute, ever hour, every day. When he's sleeping, he's thinking about football.

'I like his character and I know he's going to do a great job here.'
