OFFICIAL: Corentin Tolisso to Olympique Lyon on a free transfer until June 2027
Olympique Lyonnais is extremely happy to announce the return of its midfielder, world champion and Champions League winner, Corentin Tolisso, for the next 5 seasons, i.e. until June 30, 2027.
Like Alexandre Lacazette, and a few months before the World Cup, Corentin Tolisso has also chosen to wear the Olympique Lyonnais jersey again, after 5 seasons at Bayern Munich. Transferred during the summer of 2017 for the sum of €41.5 million, the 27-year-old French midfielder thus found his training club which he had joined in 2007.
Revelation of the 2013/2014 season, during which he began his professional career, Corentin Tolisso established himself the following season as an essential link in the Lyon game system by playing, in all competitions, 160 games and scoring 29 goals.
Transferred to Bayern in 2017, the versatile midfielder will then confirm his full potential in Germany and build up a substantial record with 1 Champions League (2020), 5 Bundesliga titles (from 2018 to 2022), 1 World Cup Clubs (2020) and 1 European Super Cup (2020).
Significant performances which will naturally lead him to join the French team (28 selections) from the end of 2017 before winning the supreme title of World Champion in 2018, alongside 2 other players trained in the club, Samuel Umtiti and Nabil Fekir.
At the dawn of the 2022/2023 season, which marks the beginning of a new era, the return of Corentin Tolisso testifies to the great ambitions of Lyon and the desire for the club to win titles again.
