Patrice Evra has joined a number of other former Manchester United players in criticising Bruno Fernandes' body language in their 7-0 loss to Liverpool.
Erik ten Hag's side suffered their heaviest loss since 1931 on Sunday, as Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez all bagged braces for the hosts.
The result leaves United's title ambitions in tatters, and continues their woeful recent record at Anfield.
Fernandes grew increasingly frustrated as the game progressed, with the club captain waving his arms around, falling theatrically to the floor and even appearing to ask the manager to sub him off at one point.
Patrice Evra compared his behaviour to that of another fiery Red Devils midfielder, as he told Rio Ferdinand's Five: 'I love Bruno as a player, but this is not the first game has body language is like that. He needs to get rid of that.
'Paul Pogba used to be like this at Juventus, and [Massimiliano] Allegri benched him because of that.'
Evra also compared to the incident to his time at the club, as he continued: 'When Nani wasn't crossing the ball to Wayne [Rooney], he used to shout, and that's when the fans start hating Nani.
'For me when I see this body language as a manager, they will not play in my time. No matter if they are good because this is disrespectful.'
The former left back added that the result did not 'surprise' him because this 'was not a strong United team', and that 'you recognise a strong United team when we are losing.'
Ferdinand agreed that the game should have been about 'damage limitation' after Liverpool stormed into the lead.
On Fernandes, he added: 'I spoke to him last week and he's aware of his waving his arms. It's because he's frustrated. He wants players to do better.
'The way it transmits to teammates and fans doesn't look great.'
The result will come as something of a shock for Red Devils fans, after an excellent few weeks for Erik ten Hag's side that have seen them win the League Cup and mount a challenge for the title.
United remain eight points off second-place Manchester City, although they are still fighting in the FA Cup and Europa League.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have moved within three points of fourth place Tottenham with a game and could still be on track for a Champions League place despite a less-than ideal start to the season.
