Reports have claimed that rival clubs are expecting Chelsea to undergo somewhat of a fire sale before the end of June.
According to The Athletic, there is an ambition amongst those rivals to take advantage of the club's need to make some money before signing anyone.
The current Chelsea squad is extremely over-populated. The club website lists more than 30 first team players, without including Lewis Hall and a number of players currently on loan.
Two consecutive transfer windows where plenty of signings were made have left the Blues in a position where there are far too many players for a manager to utilise.
This can be shown by the latest trip to Real Madrid in the Champions League. Despite the extended squad being allowed, big money summer addition Carney Chukwuemeka was forced to stay at home.
It's an issue which has needed addressing for some time really, and reports have been swirling as to who is likely to be the unfortunate by-product of a summer clearout.
Rivals expecting Chelsea fire sale
It has been frequently claimed that midfielders Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher are going to be in demand this summer.
Liverpool have been reportedly interested in a move for both candidates, as they seem to have cooled their interest this summer in a move for Jude Bellingham.
The Blues seemingly believe that they can get the most value in the transfer window for the English pair, even if Mount is entering the final year of his contract.
There will be a number of other players on sale too. Hakim Ziyech would have been leaving in January if it hadn't been for a late error on the club's part.
Christian Pulisic is a winger who will also surely be on the move, after failing to establish himself as a starting player in his years in West London.
