Tottenham were back in action in the Premier League 2

The international break is over and football returned to Tottenham Hotspur with the development squad taking on Leicester City in the Premier League 2.

Spurs' development squad were looking to continue the fine form they showed in their 4-0 destruction of an experienced Gillingham side in the Checkatrade Trophy before the break.

Two of the players who impressed on that day were Jack Roles and Japhet Tanganga and they started against Leicester in the match at Tottenham's Hotspur Way training complex and made a big impact.

Tanganga was superb in defence while Roles scored the game's winning goal in the final five minutes.

Kazaiah Sterling also returned for his first game of the season after injury.

Oliver Skipp was not included in the line-up which suggests he will again be involved in Spurs' first team squad for their Premier League match at West Ham on Saturday, perhaps as the 19th man.

The Foxes featured experienced stars Danny Simpson and Andy King in their starting line-up as well as former Spurs youngster Ryan Loft.

Before the game Leicester sat fourth in the Premier League 2 table with three wins and 11 points to their name from their opening seven matches. Tottenham were in ninth spot, three points behind with just two victories so far.
