Aaron Wan-Bissaka's outstanding performance in Crystal Palace's 2-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday has earned him praises from Roy Hodgson.

The 20-year-old made his eighth top-flight appearance - after making his debut in February - and delivered an impressive performance which also saw him assist Wilfried Zaha's goal.

And Hodgson has acknowledged the youngster's excellent contributions 'defensively and offensively' against the Premier League newcomers.

“I thought he was absolutely excellent, both defensively and offensively. You only hope he’ll go from strength to strength – it is only his eighth game in the Premier League,” Hodgson told club website.

“He played on the opening game of the season, in a fantastic atmosphere against a team who have just come up and against Sessegnon who has had a wonderful season and is a bit of a flyer, so to do what he did today he will sleep well.

“If you’re going to give him a few pats on the back, I am more than happy to add my voice to the praise,” he said.

Wan-Bissaka will hope to continue his impressive form when Crystal Palace trade tackles with in-form Liverpool at the Selhurst Park on August 20.
