What are the lyrics to Man Utd's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer song?

  /  Ben

Man Utd fans love Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and they have a special chant for him.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will take charge of his first game as Manchester United manager on Saturday when the Reds go to Cardiff City in the Premier League.

He was confirmed as interim boss until the end of the season on Wednesday morning after Jose Mourinho's sacking 24 hours earlier.

Solskjaer, 45, is a fan favourite at Old Trafford having spent 11 years playing for the club between 1996 and 2007.

He is, of course, most fondly remembered for scoring United's late winning goal in the 1999 Champions League final.

Upon sealing his return to United, he told the club's website: "Manchester United is in my heart and it’s brilliant to be coming back in this role. I’m really looking forward to working with the very talented squad we have, the staff and everyone at the club."

In a separate interview with Molde, he added: "In football you never know what can happen. We get proof of time after time. This is an opportunity I had to take."

Solskjaer will return to Molde at the end of the season but, for the next few months at least, we can look forward to the following song being chanted by United's faithful supporters:

The chant is sang to the tune of Johnny Cash’s famous song You are My Sunshine and the words go:

You are my Solskjaer,

My Ole Solskjaer,

You make me happy,

When skies are grey,

Oh Alan Shearer,

Was f****** dearer,

So please don't take,

My Solskjaer away...
