36 teams to share €2.5 Billion in prizes for the 2025-26 UCL season

As the group stage of the 2025 - 26 UEFA Champions League is about to start, French media RMC has analyzed the prize money income of this season's Champions League. 36 teams will share a total of 2.5 billion euros in prize money, and each team can get 18.62 million euros just by participating.

In the 2025 - 2026 season, UEFA will distribute a prize pot of up to 2.5 billion euros to 36 clubs. Just by taking part in this event, a club can earn 18.62 million euros.

In the group stage, a win can bring in 2.1 million euros in prize money, and a draw can also get 700,000 euros.

After the eight group - stage matches, prize money will also be awarded according to the final ranking. The first - placed team will get 9.9 million euros, and the 36th - placed team will also receive a consolation prize of 275,000 euros. 

Clubs that advance to the round of 16 through the play - offs and those that directly qualify for the round of 16 will receive additional prize money of 1 million euros and 2 million euros respectively.

Reaching the round of 16 can bring 11 million euros, reaching the quarter - finals can get 12.5 million euros, reaching the semi - finals can obtain 15 million euros, reaching the final can secure 18.5 million euros, and the champion will receive an additional 6.5 million euros.
