Alena: I wish someday Neymar would return to Barcelona

With Barcelona not closing the door on a return for Neymar, Carles Alena has thrown his support behind a plan to bring him back to the Camp Nou.

The midfielder also explained in an interview that the team need to help Ousmane Dembele to settle in.

"In the end, Ney is one of the best in the world and it's clear that nobody would close the door if he returned," Alena said to COPE.

"But this is something he has to decide, and if the club is what he wants, we would love him to come back.

"He's a great player, with unique talent, that would improve Barcelona and all of us."

Dembele seems to be on a final warning if the latest rumours are to be believed.

"I see him inside the dressing room, among our teammates, and it's a spectacular relationship, he's a cheerful guy," Alena continued.

"He's had these failures and people talk, and the heavyweights in the team have already said what they think.

"We are here to help him because, in the end, we mustn't forget that he's only 20 years old, and has come from outside the club."

With Denis Suarez and Rafinha both potentially on their way out of the club in January, there's an opportunity for Alena to move up to the first team permanently.

"We will meet in December to decide whether I still have the B team contract or a first team one," he added.

"If it's for the first team, the contract extends to 2022, but now that's the last thing that worries me.

"I have the confidence of the club, the coach and my teammates, I know how hard it is and patience is required.

"I'm in no hurry to succeed here, Sergi Roberto is the example to follow for all the players in the academy."
