The Premier League leaders are in advanced talks with Napoli’s head of scouting Micheli, as they seek to hire him for a leading recruitment position, according to The Athletic.
Micheli, 57, is highly regarded at the club and has played a key role in Napoli’s recent domestic success.
Sporting director Andrea Berta has been keen to add to the group working closest to him since he joined Arsenal in March.
The Italian has previously been credited with identifying such talents as Marek Hamsik, Kim Min-jae and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
