Arsenal 'register interest' in transfer move for Salzburg midfielder Szoboszlai

Arsenal have already registered their interest in one of Red Bull Salzburg's scorers from their stunning Champions League win on Tuesday night.

Erling Braut Haaland fired a hat-trick as the Austrian side beat Genk 6-2 in their first Champions League group stage game for 25 years, while highly-rated Hungarian playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai was also on the scoresheet.

While Haaland has been banging the goals in, Arsenal were already aware of Szoboszlai's qualities, having made enquiries about the 18-year-old earlier this summer.

That's according to Football London , who say the Gunners have been tracking Szoboszlai with a view to a possible swoop at the end of this season.

The teenager - who has been likened to Real Madrid star Toni Kroos - is believed to have been keen to spend at least one more season proving himself at Salzburg before any potential move to one of Europe's top leagues.

But if Arsenal do move for Szoboszlai they are likely to face competition, with Juventus and Inter Milan also said to be monitoring the midfielder.

However, the Gunners will hope their early interest in the player will stand them in good stead.
