Arsenal weigh up using head-hunter agency to fill Gazidis void

Arsenal are now considering using a head-hunter agency as they look to replace Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis.

Gazidis has left the Emirates to move to AC Milan and that has left a huge void in the club's hierarchy.

The immediate reaction at Arsenal was to promote Raul Sanllehi to a role as Head of Football and highly-rated Vinai Venkatesham from chief commercial officer to Managing Director.

Arsenal have been impressed by the way Venkatesham has handled the negotiations with Adidas who are to provide the kit for the club next season after the current deal with Puma has expired.

But that still leaves the post of Chief Executive vacant. There was a suggestion that Josh Kroenke could fill the role but it is feared he will be reluctant to relocate to London on a permanent basis.

That is why Arsenal could turn to head hunters for a new man.

One area that will attract attention from any new regime is the statistics department run by Jaesen Rosenfeld.

Originally it was a Chicago-based company called StatDna which sent data on players worldwide to Manchester City and Liverpool as well as the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona in Europe.

Seven years ago - while Gazidis was in charge - Arsenal bought the company for £3 million to secure the exclusivity of the data.

But some members of the coaching staff were sceptical about its value and while former manager Arsene Wenger was interested in the information about players, he was still heavily reliant on the verdict of his scouts who watched the players that were flagged up.
