Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has been named All Football Player of the Week again.

Messi highlights our All Football Team of the Week and was selected as a competitive candidate in our All Football Player of the Week Vote, in which he casts the most votes beating Shaqiri, Hazard, Lewandowski & Sane to the award.

Since getting ranked the 5th best player in world soccer at the annual Ballon d'Or, Messi has been a marksman on a mission. The Argentine scored three goals in 17 minutes and set up the other two in Barca's 5-0 win over Levante – the only team, who beat the Catalan giants in LaLiga last season.

According to Opta, he is now the first player to reach double figures for both goals (14) and assists (10) in the top five European leagues this season.

With this wonderful hat-trick, the 31-year-old is now just one hat-trick shy of his longstanding rival Ronaldo, who has scored 44 hat-trick during his time at Real Madrid. Overall, Ronaldo has scored 51 hat-tricks for club and country, while Messi now sits on 49 trebles, despite having played 152 games less.

Messi also took his tally for the calendar year to 50 strikes, reaching this milestone for the eighth time in his career.

Can you ask for more from him?
