Ex-MU manager eyes Rashford reunion with 'record-breaking offer being prepared'

Marcus Rashford is reportedly wanted by Turkish Super Lig outfit Fenerbahce.

Rashford's Manchester United career appears to be over and he has not played for the Old Trafford club since declaring in December last year that he wanted a 'new challenge'.

He was loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 season but that challenge ended when the Midlands outfit opted against signing him permanently.

Rashford has returned to United's Carrington base for pre-season training but he is not working with the first-team group.

United manager Ruben Amorim is keen to move Rashford on and could get his wish courtesy of one former Red Devils boss.

Jose Mourinho worked with Rashford for two and a half seasons at Old Trafford and, according to T24, now wants to be reunited with him at Fenerbahce.

It is claimed that Fenerbahce are preparing to make an offer to sign Rashford, initially on loan, with the option to sign him permanently for around €46 million (£53m).

Should that deal go all the way through then it would smash Fenerbahce's current transfer record.

Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri is currently the most expensive signing in Fenerbahce's 118-year history, having cost around €20m (£17.3m) when he arrived from Sevilla in July 2024.

Mourinho, who took charge of 144 United games between August 2016 and December 2018, has been at Fenerbahce since June last year.

He guided them to second place in Turkey last season, finishing 11 points behind champions Galatasaray.

Rashford has scored 138 goals in 426 games during his United career. Twenty-eight of those goals came on Mourinho's watch.
