Florentino Perez and Zidane come face to face at Valdebebas

  /  autty

It might not seem like the most appropriate week, but Real Madrid's official squad photo was taken on Thursday morning at Valdebebas, bringing all of the players and staff together.

Florentino Perez arrived early, but Zinedine Zidane had already gotten in. As is his routine, Zidane arrived just after nine o'clock.

The two being at Valdebebas allowed them to meet face to face for the first time since Kiev and since the pressure surrounding the Frenchman really amplified from outside the club.

The president's confidence in Zidane has been absolute for two decades now, first as a player and now as a coach, and he has shown that by bringing him back to the club less than a year after he left the job.

But Zidane isn't escaping blame for recent results, and doubts are starting to form. The coach himself knows it as well, even if he claims to feel good.

Now, Florentino Perez is seeking something to stimulate the coach and his players. Things are tense at the club, and nobody is escaping that reality.

The photo also gave the president the opportunity to speak briefly with Sergio Ramos.

The captain's renewal is another issue that needs to be resolved but, at the moment, the priority is getting through the toughest period since Zidane returned to the bench.
