Jermaine Jenas was shocked by Paul Pogba's glaring miss in Manchester United's 2-1 defeat to Valencia.

The World Cup winner missed an open goal with the score still 1-0 and a win for the Red Devils would have sent them into the last-16 as group winners.

Jenas watched the game and couldn't believe the France international missed the chance from the corner.

Jenas told BT Sport: ‘Completely crazy miss from a player of his character. He is onside there.

'There are certain players in that Manchester United side who are just not in a good place and that just stinks of a lack of concentration, switching off at the wrong time.'

'It's not that he doesn't care. Clearly he wants to score, he's disappointed. But from a confidence perspective he's not in a great place just like Lukaku as well.’

Juventus lost 2-1 to Young Boys which meant Jose Mourinho's side missed a golden opportunity to avoid one of the European giants in the next stage.

United finished second in the group and face league leaders Liverpool on Sunday.

They are 16 points behind their bitter rivals and eight points off Chelsea in fourth place.
