As reported by RMC Sport, Kingsley Coman (28) is expected to leave the France training camp in order to travel to Sweden, ahead of Les Bleus’ Euro 2024 Round of 16 encounter against Belgium.
Thus far, Coman has made just one brief substitute appearance in Euro 2024, coming on late in the second half in France’s 0-0 draw against the Netherlands. The lack of minutes comes despite Ousmane Dembélé’s lack of efficiency and form down the right wing. However, there are doubts surrounding Coman’s fitness. The Bayern Munich winger only just recovered in time for the tournament and according to L’Équipe, he informed Les Bleus’ technical staff that he was not fit enough to start in one of the preparation matches.
That lack of match fitness continues to hurt Coman’s chances of displacing Dembélé. He may not even be in the squad to face Belgium. RMC Sport understands that he is set to travel to Sweden to be with his Swedish wife for the birth of their fourth child. However, it is thought that he will quickly return to Germany and could still be in contention to face Belgium on Monday.
