Kyle Walker-Peters’ transfer from Tottenham to Southampton will be confirmed next week after personal terms were agreed on Saturday morning.
The two clubs are waiting on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who will move in the opposite direction in a separate transfer worth £19milllion, to undergo a medical before confirming the news.
Provided Hojbjerg passes the medical, the two transfers will be announced together early next week.
Negotiations were delayed due to a difference in opinion around the sell-on clauses in both contracts.
The two club have, however, found a common ground and hashed out a deal this afternoon.
The south coast club are expected to pay £12m plus add-ons for Walker-Peters, while Hojbjerg – who was originally valued at £15m – will cost Tottenham £19m.
Unlike Hojbjerg, a medical will not be required for Walker-Peters will as he underwent one January ahead of his loan spell at the club.
Walker-Peters, who came through the ranks at Spurs, made 24 appearances for the Tottenham first team, scoring one goal and providing five assists.
Walker-Peters did, however, fall down the pecking order under manager Jose Mourinho, who chose to play Serge Aurier ahead of him.
With Hojbjerg being a top transfer target for Tottenham boss, it was the perfect opportunity for the two club to make a direct swap.
Denmark international Hojbjerg, who joined Southampton from Bayern Munich for £13.5m in 2016, will look to bolster Tottenham’s midfield.
